Luigi Pirandello's 145th birthday (June 28, 2012)

Qualche giorno fa Google ha dedicato un simpaticissimo Doodle al 145° compleanno di Luigi Pirandello e mi ha così dato lo spunto di fare una ricerchina sui vari Doodle dedicati agli scrittori... di seguito potete vederne il risultato! :-)

Some days ago Google dedicated a very nice Doodle to Luigi Pirandello's (famous Italian writer) 145th birthday and gave me the idea to make a research about the Doodles dedicated to writers... below you can find its output! :-)

Vor einigen Tagen hat Google ein nettes Doodle dem 145. Geburtstag von Luigi Pirandello (dem berühmten italienischen Schriftsteller) gewidmet und so bin ich auf die Idee gekommen eine kleine Suche der Doodles zu machen, die Google bisher Schriftstellern gewidmet hat... unten könnt ihr das Ergebnis der Recherche betrachten! :-)

The devil is in the detail: boookmarks

Quando ci vestiamo prestiamo attenzione agli accessori, giusto? Quando prepariamo una cena ci premuriamo di scegliere gli addobbi giusti per la tavola, no? E quando arrediamo una casa o scegliamo un'auto non siamo forse attentissimi ad interni e rifiniture...? Quindi direi anche la lettura di un bel libro richiede la scelta un bel segnalibro, siete d'accordo?! :-)

Di seguito ve ne propongo alcuni che mi hanno fatto letteralmente impazzire!  :-)

When we dress up we pay attention to the accessories, right? When we prepare a dinner we do our best to choos the right decorations for the table, don't we? And don't we pay a lot of attention to interiors and finishings when we are furnishing a house or choosing a car? So I would say that also a beautiful book requires a beautiful bookmark, do you agree?! :-)

Wenn wir uns anziehen, passen wir immer auf die Details auf, richtig? Wenn wir ein Abendessen vorbereiten suchen wir mit Aufmerksamkeit die Dekorationen für den Esstisch aus... oder nicht? Und wenn wir ein Haus einrichten oder ein Auto kaufen, widmen wir uns etwa nicht mit großem Engagement den Innenaustattungen? Ich würde also sagen, dass auch die Lektüre eines schönen Buches ein schönes Lesezeichen verdient, seid ihr einverstanden?! :-)

Molti di voi mi hanno scritto delle e-mail chiedendomi di parlare un po' di me. Ci ho pensato un po' ed alla fine ho deciso che il modo migliore per farlo (per restare in tema con il mio blog!) sia raccontarmi attraverso i miei consumi: in termini di brand che mi caratterizzano, che mi piacciono, di consumi sia ispirazionali, che aspirazionali, ecc.. Spero che l'idea via piaccia! E voi? Quali consumi/brand/attività vi descrivono meglio?

Many of you wrote me e-mails, asking me to say something about myself. I have thought about it for a while and finally I decided that the best way of doing it is describing me through my consumptions (due to the kind of blog!): in terms of brands which characterize me, which I like, of consumptions both in an inspirational and aspirational sense. etc.. I hope you like the idea! And you? What consumptions/brands/activities describe you the best?

Viele von euch haben mir E-mails geschrieben um mich zu fragen, ob ich etwas über mich erzählen kann. Ich hab ein bisschen nachgedacht und hab am Ende entschieden, der beste Weg dies zu tun ist mich durch meine Konsume vorzustellen (das scheint mir mit dem Blog koherent zu sein!): d.h. durch Marken die mich gut charakterisieren, die mir gefallen, durch Konsume die mich inspirieren oder die für mich aspirationell sind, usw.. Ich hoffe die Idee gefällt euch! Und ihr? Welche Konsume/Marken/Aktivitäten beschreiben euch am Besten?

Of mice and men

Adoro da sempre i romanzi di formazione, i Bildungsromane, ed in particolare 
Of mice and men (Uomini e Todello scrittore americano John Steinbeck. Si tratta di un romanzo breve che consiglio a chiunque: molto toccante e commovente, ogni volta che lo prendo in mano mi fa riflettere sul senso della vita, sui nostri comportamenti e sentimenti nei confronti degli altri e su quanto affetto e amicizia sinceri siano importanti (sembra scontato, non lo è).

Per sdrammatizzare un po' vi propongo le seguenti immagini: una mia interpretazione di quello che oggi, almeno  nella moda, potremmo definire il rapporto tra... uomini e topi.

I have always loved Bildungsromane and especially Of mice and men by the American writer John Steinbeck. It is a novel, which I really recommend to everyone: it is moving and each time I read it, it makes me think about the sense of life, about our behaviour and feelings towards others and about how important true friendship and affection are (which seems obvious, but is not).

To lighten the mood, here there are the following pictures: my personal interpretation of what, at least in fashion, is the relationship between... mice and men today.

Ich liebe schon seit immer Bildungsromane und besonders Of mice and men, des amerikanischen Schriftstellers John Steinbeck. Er ist ein kurzer Roman, den ich ich jedem zu lesen empfehle: Er ist rührend und lässt mich jedes mal über den Sinn des Lebens, über unser Benehmen und unsere Gefühle gegenüber anderen und über die Wichtigkeit von echter Freundschaft und Zuneigung nachdenken (was selbstverständlich scheinen mag, es aber nicht ist).

Um die Stimmung etwas aufzuhellen, zeige ich euch folgende Bilder: Meine Interpretation von dem was heute, zumindest in der Mode, die Beziehung zwischen... Mäusen und Menschen ist.
