An award for my birthday

Il 15 febbraio era il mio compleanno! :-) Non potevo ricevere regalo migliore di un premio per The Cat's Edge da parte di Il Principe Ranocchio (bellissimo blog su bon ton e argomenti davvero interessanti). Giro il premio a 3 altri blog con meno di 200 follower che secondo me lo meritano assolutamente:

Februar hatte ich Geburtstag :-) und ich konnte mir kein besseres Geschenk wünschen als einen Preis für The Cat's Edge, von Il Principe Ranocchio (ein toller Blog über Bon Ton und andere sehr interessante Themen). Favorite movies

Ho ricevuto delle mail nei giorni scorsi, in cui alcuni di voi mi chiedevano di ripostare qualcosa su film e cinema: eccovi accontentati con la top "sixteen" (non ho proprio potuto potare oltre, fino ad una "fifteen"!) dei miei film preferiti (di qualcuno vi avevo già parlato ad esempio QUI e QUI)! Sono molto diversi tra loro, ma ognuno mi ha rapito a modo suo. A voi quali piacciono? Vi auguro una buona giornata!

A few days a go I got mails from some of you, asking me to post something about movies and cinema again: here you are, I share with you the top "sixteen" (I didn't make it to a "fifteen"!) of my favorite movies (I already told you about some of them HERE and HERE)! They are very different from each other, but each of them captured me in its own way. Which ones do you like? I wish you a nice day!

Vor einigen Tagen haben mir einige von euch Mails geschickt, in denen ich gefragt wurde, doch mal wieder etwas über Filme und Kino zu posten: Wunsch erfüllt, unten gibt es die Top "Sixteen" (ich hab es bis zu einer "Fifteen" nicht geschafft!) meiner Lieblingsfilme (über einige hatte ich z. B. schon HIER und HIER etwas geschrieben)! Sie sind z. T. sehr unterschiedlich, aber jeder hat mich auf seine Art gefesselt. Welche Filme gefallen euch? Ich wünsche euch einen schönen Tag!

Italy in 150 years

Come sapete, ho una certa passione per i Google Doodle che mi affascinano sempre moltissimo. Di recente, parlando con un amico, ho scoperto che me ne era sfuggito uno importante: nel 2011, in onore dei 150 anni dell’Unità d’Italia, era stata indetta una competizione artistica tra gli studenti delle scuole della penisola, per rappresentare in un Doodle “L’Italia tra 150 anni”. Il vincitore assoluto del concorso è il disegno intitolato “Avanti con energia” (che potete vedere qui sopra), realizzato da una scuola primaria nelle Marche. Lo trovo davvero di grande ispirazione per gli anni a venire, complimenti anche se in ritardo a chi lo ha realizzato!

As you already know, I have a passion for Google Doodles and think they are always fascinating. When I talked to a friend recently, I discovered that I missed a very important one: when the 150^th anniversary of the Italian Unification was celebrated in 2011, an artistic competition aiming to represent “Italy in 150 years” in a Doodle took place among Italian pupils and students. The absolute winner was the picture you can see above, called “Going ahead with energy” and realized by an elementary school in the Marche region. I think the Doodle is and should be definitely inspiring for the coming years, congrats to the winners!

Wie ihr schon wisst, habe ich eine Vorliebe für Google Doodles und finde sie immer sehr faszinierend. Als ich kürzlich mit einem Freund gesprochen habe, habe ich entdeckt einen sehr wichtigen verpasst zu haben: Als 2011 die 150 Jahre der Italienischen Einheit gefeiert wurden, gab es einen Wettbewerb zwischen allen italienischen Schulen, um einen Doodle zu erfinden, mit dem Ziel „Italien in 150 Jahren“ darzustellen. Der absolute Sieger ist das Bild von einer Grundschule der Region Marche (oben) und trägt den Namen „Weiter mit Energie“. Ich finde diesen Doodle sehr inspirierend für unsere Zukunft und gratuliere den Siegern!

Osa con Asos

Eccomi qui a parlarvi nuovamente di una questione che mi preme molto condividere con voi. Vi è mai capitato di voler osare fare qualcosa di un po’ diverso dal solito, ma di avere poi lasciato perdere perché temevate di “snaturarvi”? Io penso che sia capitato a tutti noi (e più di una volta) di domandarci “che cosa penseranno di me se sul treno mi vedono leggere quel libro?”, “ma come può piacermi il balletto classico se sono un tipo rock!”, “mi piace l’animalier, ma mi ci sentirei a disagio…”, “ma se non ho una moto e nemmeno mi piacciono è normale che da tre giorni appiccico il naso alla vetrina con quegli stivali neri con le borchie?”, ecc.  In genere ci premuriamo di dare un’immagine coerente di noi, che rispecchi la nostra personalità, i nostri interessi e che ci faccia sentire a nostro agio anche con gli altri. Questo è giusto, ma non deve trasformarsi in un divieto a provare cose che in realtà ci possono interessare. Secondo me la chiave sta nell’osare, ma senza esagerare. Prendiamo la moda, per esempio: un trend non deve per forza o piacerci o dispiacerci, ma possiamo apprezzarlo a piccole dosi. Basta infatti scegliere un paio di stivali belli e originali per completare il nostro look con un tocco di novità, ma con discrezione. Perché proprio degli stivali? Perché metaforicamente rappresentano il compimento di un “primo passo”! J Per questo di seguito desidero condividere con voi una mia selezione proprio di alcuni favolosi stivali del magnifico sito Asos, che vi consiglio caldamente di visitare in modo da poter seguite il titolo del post! J

Here I am, talking again about a topic which I really wanted to share with you. Did you ever want to dare to do something different, but then gave up because you were afraid to “denaturalize” yourself? I think this has happened at least once to all of us and we have all questioned ourselves: “what is going to happen if others watch me reading that kind of book on the train?”, “I can’t like classic ballet if I am a rock soul!”, “I like animalier style, but I definitely don’t feel comfy with it…”, “if I don’t own a motorbike and don’t like them either, why do I get lost in the window with those black biker boots?”, etc. We usually work hard on our image in order to make it coherent with our personality and interests and which allows us to feel comfortable also with others. That’s perfectly right, but shouldn’t become a limit to try things we could be interested in. I think the key is to dare without exaggerations. Let’s take fashion for instance: we don’t necessarily have to like or dislike a trend, but we can appreciate it in small portions. In fact it is enough to choose a pair of nice original boots to complete our look with something new, but discretional at the same time. Why boots? Well, metaphorically they represent the “first step”! J For this reason I’d like to share with you my selection of some fabulous boots from the great website Asos. I really recommend you to visit it and to follow the post’s title, which means “dare with Asos” in Italian (I’m sure you’ll have noticed the pun)! J

Hier bin ich und möchte mit euch schon wieder über ein Thema sprechen, das mir wichtig ist. Ist es euch jemals passiert, etwas Neues ausprobieren zu wollen, aber dann doch aufgegeben zu haben, weil ihr Angst hattet „zu anders“ zu sein? Ich glaube das ist uns allen (mindestens einmal) schon passiert und

 wir haben uns wohl alle gefragt: „was werden die anderen Passagiere denken, wenn ich auf dem Zug dieses Buch lese?“, „wie kann mir nur klassisches Ballett gefallen wenn ich doch ein Rock Typ bin!“, „Animalier Stil gefällt mir, aber ich würde mich darin nicht wohl fühlen…“, „warum klebe ich seit drei Tagen die Nase an das Schaufenster mit diesen schwarzen Biker Stiefeln wo ich ja gar kein Motorrad hab und sie gar nicht mag?“, usw. Wir kümmern uns täglich darum ein kohärentes Bild von uns darzustellen, das unseren Charakter und unsere Interessen widerspiegelt und das uns auch in Gegenwart anderer erlaubt, uns wohl zu fühlen. Das ist richtig, soll uns aber nicht daran hindern Dinge auszuprobieren, die uns eigentlich gefallen können. Meiner Ansicht nach ist das Geheimnis zu wagen, ohne jedoch zu übertreiben. Nehmen wir uns ein Beispiel an der Mode: Ein Trend muss uns nicht unbedingt gefallen oder missfallen, sondern wir können ihn auch nur mit Abstrichen mögen und in kleinen Portionen genießen. Es genügt in der Tatsache ein Paar Schöne originelle Stiefel auszusuchen, um dem eigenen Aussehen den ersehnten neuen Touch zu geben und zugleich diskret zu sein. Warum gerade Stiefel? Weil sie eine Metapher für den „ersten Schritt“ sind! J Deshalb möchte ich euch meine Selektion an Stiefeln der tollen Webseite Asos teilen.
